I'm getting to the point of pouring petrol on the thing and torching it.

The alarm has gone potty. (again)
I have three keys and none of them work wirelessly.
They won't resync so maybe the radio receiver is bust???
It won't let me enter the keycode - I go through the sequence with
a lot of beeping but it never unlocks.
Turn the key and as you open the door the alarm sounds.
Turning the door key does not cancel the alarm only pulling the battery
terminal prevents the full 60 seconds neighbourhood entertainment.

Is it possible to have the alarm deinstalled?
Preferably with an axe.
I just want it to work like cars use too.
I can live without central locking and alarms.
Dammit I'm living without proper suspension.

Point...

I haven't noticed another Grey Rangie in the road so probably it is.
Would explain the alarms though...

Nigel:

I was to understand that the dealer had to reset the keys. Have you tried
this?

No, there is no dealer reset for the keys on the P38A.

Are you sure you've followed the correct resync process. It does vary
from year to year.

And are you sure you're getting it right. Again, for some MY's the
process is slightly different. And is there any possibility the keys
have been changed at some point in the past, or a new BeCM installed?

>> Is it possible to have the alarm deinstalled?

No, it's part of the BeCM and can't be removed. Sorry.

The alarm system is the weak point of the P38A - it's got really crap
diagnostics, so you're often trying to figure things out in the dark.
You can check whether the BeCM is getting a valid code or not
diagnostically, and that should let you know how to proceed.
There are ways of extracting the right EKA from the BECM; drop me a mail
(replace "spam" with "andy") if you need to speak to someone who can help.
