P38 Window mechanism

Hi, I am in the process of replacing the electric window mechanism on my 1997 p38. I have removed the broken mech. and have ordered a new part.After replacement, does the motor need to be sychronised to stop when the window is fully up/down?

To reset the "Window not set" message on the dash, simply fully open then fully close the window in one smooth operation, while holding the button for 2 or 3 seconds once open and also once closed. The message "Window set" will appear when done correctly.
