If you can get a late 1998 with GEMS engine I think you might be safer on liner issues. There was fairly major revision in 1997 where they sorted a lot of niggles out and then in 1999 they changed again with the introduction of Thor engine and 4W traction control.

Right so I'm crap at tech, well I am a hairdresser ! I've tried but but can't post the ad but the item number is
22963092415 any thoughts much appreciated. I know it's overpriced but remember I need to px.
Would rather pay a bit more for a basically good un than buy a cheapy that needs hundreds spending on it.

Nice one, what a motor for silly money. All peeps on here moaning about repair costs etc, if you want what is After All a luxury vehicle, bite the bullet and pay up !

I think you'll find very few on here moaning about repair costs. What you will find is owners, who are well aware of the costs, commenting on them, with a wry sense of humour. Whilst using that same wry sense of humour to let prospective owners know that the pain is coming, no matter which model they purchase.
Oh and also having a bit of a giggle at anyone who thinks "hundreds" is a lot to spend. I was dancing on the ceiling when I got the bill after my last issue. At £748, I thought I had been let off lightly and whilst the P38 isn't quite as demanding, they are still demanding :rolleyes:

Take it you mean rye sense of humour ?
Lol, no didn't mean any offence, just meant if you buy a car which was at one time the equivalent to the price of some house's you expect to pay the price.
In London now most main stealers charge well over £100 per hour Labour plus vat which is nuts.

Why would I mean rye?
If you see my signature , you'll see I am of the opinion don't buy if you can't afford the upkeep. I think the stealers are about the same everywhere. I am in the back of beyond and their normal price ph including VAT is £120

I beg to differ.
The meaning of Wry, as I used it means dry/mocking humour, grin, etc.
Rye however, is a grain of the wheat family.
It is also a town in England.

You really are an arsehole aren't you. You 'corrected' something that wasn't incorrect. You had the chance to go check it and STILL behaved like a dick. You were wrong, after you took your time to check Google, you should have apologised. I suggest you stay with your hairdresser friends, as you are not man enough to have a Range Rover. We might act like dicks but we apologise when wrong.
