Electrics for the tow bar are behind the panels in the rear quarters, normal set on the offside, secondary set nearside. Do not be tempted to T into the lights wiring, the BECM wil not like it.Hi Everyone
I am thinking of fitting a towbar /electrics so as to be able to tow a caravan to meetings (HISTORIC KART CLUB RACES) WHAT ADVICE COULD YOU OFFER PLEASE
Regards Brian
DOES ANYONE HAVE ONE FOR SALE??

No need to buy an expensive RR tow loom, the connector pin outs are in RAVE and it's easy enough to make your own connections.Seemed to remember getting an electrics kit from Rimmers for my first P38, couldn't be simpler as Keith has said behind the trim panel and just plugs in. Has all the gubbins you need and won't upset the BeCM, 'cos it's factory.
Proper job![]()
Hi Thank you for the replies, My p38 seems to have a tow bar fitted (heavy box section welded to chassis but no tow ball brackets etc is this ok to tow a large caravan

As long as the tow bar is plated with the appropriate CE approvals, you can tow up to 3.5 tonnes with whichever tow bar you fit.Hi Everyone
Thanks for your advice i think i now understand how a towbar fits are there any pros and cons re swan neck removable tow hitch against a permantley bolted on one ie towing weights etc i will be towing a twin wheel caravan

I have 13 pin on my P38 plus an adaptor for 7 pin.Thank you! I will look on e-bay seems to be quite a choice available I will definitely go for new electrics maybe wire up to the new style 13 pin plug
I have done and had quite a lot done to my RR 2.5 Diesel recently and now I'm certain, it can easily pull the skin off a rice pudding.............well maybe anyway
Sshh dont mention chipped and better mpg you will get um all started![]()
Better MPG on the dash display maybe, mine long term using brim to brim logs shows little difference between chipped and unchipped.Get it chipped, better mpg and more power, mine will pull a house down![]()
