hi guys and girls thanks for all your help so far your a credit to the site.
another interesting one for you . i need to swop over my steering wheel and air bag to another wheel without the airbag . does anybody have a walk through how to do this i know you have to be carefull airbags etc but im sure all the cars that have been repaired someone must have some instructions etc .
cheers guys

no i want to take the existing wheel off and take the airbag off that wheel put it on my new wheel and then put the new wheel on the car

oh right lol, only thing id be worried about is disconecting the wire that'll show up an airbag fault, i cud be wrong but id disconect the battery that may do it but someone'll put ya right ;)

ok cool any ideas how its all done or shall i just get the hacksaw out lol

See RAVE for directions. First and foremost diconnect battery. Bags just plug in. Take great care in getting rotating coupling in correct position when re-assembling. Again directions contained in RAVE.

I changed mine for a wood/leather wheel off flea bay. At the same time I also had an air bag fault and no horn or steering wheel stereo controls so I also renewed the rotary coupler. As already said Rave gives details, rotary coupler is fiddly more than difficult. Be careful getting the old wheel off. I used gentle taps with a rubber malet, go at it too heavy handed and you might end up with a broken nose as it flies off!!

Air bag fault had gone on start up and didn't have to be reset, horn and stereo controls all working aswell, so original rotary coupler must have been knackered.

thats quite interesting as my horn has just stopped working and i was racking my brains as to what might be the cause, i'd checked the horns and relays and fuses but might be worth checking this steering wheel coupler. handy bit of advice! Thanks!!
