Hello everyone, I am currently planning my P38 build and would like to upgrade the steering bars similar to the 30 mm thick ones you could get for the discovery 2, does anyone know of any companies that sells them or is it a shared part.

Furthermore I've been debating the slotted and drilled brake disk upgrade as I have done on my discovery 3 , is it worth it?

Cheers

Take a look on ebay uk, there was a place in whales that was doing uprated bars for the 38, as for brake disks.. Your choice as you not going to gain a lot from not going fast🤭😉

Hi, I had mounted drilled and slotted discs on my defender td4 puma years ago, the difference was practically only aesthetic, from what you can see from the 16" rims of an off-road vehicle. Here in Italy there is a company that sells reinforced steering bars for Disco2 and P38 but I have read comments from users who had to change the joint, they discovered that it has a particular thread and the joint costs as much as the whole bar. If you don't have off-road tuning with larger tires, the standard steering bars are resistant, they only have the inconvenience of having only one replaceable joint, a threaded bar on both sides would have to be built.

That's interesting, I was under the assumption the P38 and disco 2 shared exact steering bars.

But that's extremely helpful thanks.

What would be the general cost ?

I had the discs and they worked fine. Bigger than standard and fitted well. Think biggest thing that made a difference was decent pads, but compared to what came off anything would have been an improvement
