I'm looking at batteries, and would like to know what battery you recommend, eurocar parts are showing a bosch battery 70ah for it, but i'm sure my last P38 i had a Varta 95ah battery for it

Look forward to replies

Just fitted a 135AH 1000CCA (D31-1000) battery with a 4 year guarantee from www.batterymegastore.co.uk Not cheap at £120 delivered but it spins the engine like a top:D:D:D

Hi Data i've just been on that website and it shows a 72AH varta for mine, do you have the part number for the one you have bought so i can have a look for it please

72 amp will be for petrol Rangie. You don't need a 135amp battery for the petrol but something around 100 amp would be a lot better than the 72.

Am I right in thinking the battery tray on the petrol and diesel are the same, so you could fit the larger diesel sized battery on a petrol? I presume the advantage of doing this would be a larger battery reserve? My last petrol P38 had a diesel sized battery, around 120AH IIRC, I never had a problem with a flat battery.

So the story continues, new battery arrived, fitted it, The beast still didnt start, so went under the car wiggled the wires on the soliniod and hay presto car starts first turn of the key every time, so i'm guessing it will be easier to replace the starter motor and solinoid
