P38 smokes after 5 mins/no power

HI EVERYONE.
P38 DIED AT ROADSIDE ,WILL START AND TICK OVER BUT WONT RUN ABOVE ABOUT 1200 RPM AND SMOKES IF YOU TRY AND REV IT.
PLUGGED IN AND METER SAID BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR WHICH I HAVE REPLACED NOW METER SAYS FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR WHICH WE THINK IS PART OF INJECTION PUMP IS THIS INFO CORRECT ?

ANY ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Manual or auto?

It sounds as though it might have gone into 'limp mode'!

Have you managed to get her home, and where in the country do you live?

There could be someone local to you who could help out.

it is a 2.5dse auto 1995
it is at home now.
how do you get it out of limp mode ?

Try asking the question in the rr section, as I'm sure that someone on there will be able to help you out.

I don't know much about the computrickery stuff, as mine is a 'big hammer will fix it' type.
