As alot of you are aware i have had major eas problems recently, after finally getting it fixed i now have engine problems!
The rangie is not accelerating properly today, now this vehicle has the latest multipoint gas system fitted which has been running really well since going on around 4 years ago. Today it started to shake on idle and i've had this before, i had the throttle petensiometer changed as the carbon track had worn out around 2 years ago which sorted the problem of shaking out then. I also had bad running around 3-4 years ago which was the air flow meter so that has also been changed.
As i said it is shaking on idle and when you try to accelorate the engine seems blocked like it can't get fuel! It is slightly better if i run it on petrol alone but still not right, gas is way worse but when the revs get up she seems to clear the problem, any ideas?

plugs and or leads ?????????.
rick.

Definately sounds like electrical problem, leads or coils. check under the bonnet when its dark, look for arcing round the coil pack and leads. as its much the same on gas or petrol cant be a fuel problem. good luck

Thanks for the responce lads! I'll change the plugs first on tuesday and if it's no better i'll put new ht leads on it. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good set of ht leads, famous four do them for £16 for the full set of eight but are they cheap nasty ones? What plugs should i use, the vehicle is a 2000 hse with lpg, it has the thor engine with a ya chassis number?

I checked the plugs today and they are very black and choked up, a sign of the mixture being wrong! Phoned my gas technician who asked me to drive it around 35 miles on petrol to see if it would clean itself up. It runs fine on petrol but the minute it's back on gas it won't pull away, idle still shakeing on both fules but i guess that's the choked plugs! On gas it still clears the fault when over 2500 revs. I had an electrical problem the other week where i tried to start it but it would not turn the starter, as if it was in gear, this cleared on the second attempt but the radio lost all it's presets, i wonder if it had disrupted the gas system mixture as i believe the petrol system would sort itself out after a few miles?
Any thoughts anyone? It's booked in for june the 10th at the gas place!
