Hi; I did do a search before starting this thread, all the posts seemed pretty old and I wanted to check the current situation ref getting new keys. I only have one, it's held together with a cable tie and the red light is on most of the time; the remote doesn't work so I have to keep using the blade in the door - inconvenient, and I live in fear of losing this one!

So what is the best and fastest way to get two new keys with working remote control fobs, please? I'm in the South West of England, Somerset to be precise.

1999 P38 diesel.

The only source is a Land Rover Dealer, they are expensive. It's possible to get new key blades cut and continue to just use the key. I assume you do not have to enter the EKA code every time? If you do have to enter the EKA code, it can be turned off and if the immobiliser is also turned off a FOB is not needed. The only down side is the lock mechanism is weak and not really intended for daily use.

I'd contact @MrSporty. Apparently he's a bit of a genius at repairs. If he cannot fix it, no-one can. Mine will go to him one day.

Only other option is a key from main dealer @£165 and 2 day wait while it is shipped from HUF in Germany.

Hm ta...so far I'm just locking / unlocking with a key as normal. I've sent a message to MrSporty just waiting for a reply - or main dealer (k) eek!! :d
