Couple of questions if I may guys, I only ever seem to come on here when my much abused Rangie throws a hissy fit!
Firstly, I've been having some odd tyre wear on both front and rear axles, most noticable on the Front NS as it's on the outer edge, but there's also wear on the Front NS inner edge, the rear NS also has wear on the outer edge.
So, on inspection a week or so ago, I saw that there was oil leaking from the rear hub, so picked up a new drive shaft seal, as I've replaced this before (about 2 years ago), well today I pulled out the half-shaft to replace the seal, only to find terrorfying play in the bearing.
So, excuse the long winded intro, my questions:
1: Anyone replaced the bearing in the hub, I see there's someone selling just the bearings for around the £75 mark, what are you thoughts, is it a PITA job, do I need agricultural type tools to pull the hub apart?
2: Do I simply buy a 2nd hand hub and take the risk for about £45? This is what they are on eBay, anyone, trustworthy, have one for sale on here for a similar figure?
3: Here's the real odd question, would the rear wobbloing around cause the odd tyre wear on the front, or is this unrelated, I replaced the rear track rod arm last year, and tbh I haven't been under there with a crow bar yet as I'm working through a list of other things that have needed sorting including a new a/c condensor and regas.
Thanks for your patience in reading this longwinded post and I hope you can offer advise.
