Hi all,

My P38 rear doors do not unlock without manual intervention. All other doors work fine, via the remote and key.

I've got a small list of problems to tick off before summer arrives.

Lock motor failure or corroded connectors assuming you have checked any relevant fuses.

Fuse 14 in the drivers seat - the previous owner keeps it removed to avoid deadlocking the rear doors, so the fuse works fine.

lock motor = lock actuator?

If F14 has been removed, there is no power for the lock motor (actuator) so you cannot expect the locking function to operate, F14 feeds both the super locking motor and the lock motor (actuator).

It has been removed to avoid super locking, but they still don’t function when the fuse is in.

So the front doors work from the FOB? With the fuse in, if the rear doors neither lock or unlock from the FOB, maybe more than F14 has been removed, I'd be taking off the door card to see if the lock has been unplugged. If the connectors are in place, next check the connectors at the BECM.

I have to say that disabling super locking on the rear doors is a bit pointless because it will not stop the front doors being super locked and climbing into the front from the back would not be easy. When super locked the doors cannot even be opened from the inside.

I agree. If going to the trouble of disabling superlock, do it on all doors. Best solution is to fix the latches & make sure all microswitches work properly.

Might be able to use a bore camera with the rear windows down to see if the multiplug has simply been pulled off the door lock ? ie to avoid removing the door cards and water shedder
