p38 not ticking over

after driving off-road in my range rover v8 p38 4.6 recently, i stopped on the road to turn around and it stalled.
it is now difficult to start and when I do get it started, it will not tick over and when it will tick over it does not run nicely.
previously had no problems
any ideas?

I would suggest get the OBD codes read and see if that suggests anything.
