when selecting low range in my car i get nothing at all...i was told that it will be the lettel motor on the t/f box. or the ecu under the seat need changing. as i was getting no light on the dash at all. so i had a look today under the seat just to see wot i could mess about with and unpluged the first thing i could get hold of:rolleyes: it was a small white plug easy to get to just putting my hand under the back of the seat so unpluged it and put it back inn then i got one beep and the display now said L...N so jumped inn went for drive all seemed to bee working pushed the mode botton and did as it should L...D.manual..L..D..AUTO i only went to the end of the road and back and then stoped and change back to high the gear box changed back. but now showing its still in low on the display and will not go back in to low:(... is there any relays under the seat that i could try or do i have to change the ecu??

I had a similar problem when I first got the car and received the same advice, which turned out to be unnecessary. I systematically checked the wiring to the connection block and found a loose earth connection. I secured it and everything worked fine, and has done for the last nine months.

You will need to raise the passenger seat to full height and right back then remove the plastic cover over the base of the seat - giving access to the ecu. Remove the connection block and working from one end, make sure all the wires are fully pushed home and secure. Then try it again. If that fails, check all the wires to the transfer motor on the transfer gearbox - easy to get to. If all that fails, then you can get onto ebay to search for your ecu!

Worth it to save time and money in the long run.
