Morning all, need some help with my p38, ive removed the battery a few months ago as the car has been parked up when i put the battery back on ive got the keycode lock out on the dash. Ive had this before so have the eka code for the car amd have tried serveral times to enter the code via the drivers door lock.
Ive done the correct number turns, checked the doors, bonnet and boot are closed waited for the 30mins-1hr, even left it overnight, read every thread on the internet i can find and no matter what i do i cant clear it.
Ive tried the local diagnosic guy and lock people, the diagnosic guy can do it but doesnt do call outs and the lockman doesnt have the software as its too old.
The car is currently stuck on the drive in such a manner i cant get it out the gates with getting it started.
Does anyone know how i can clear it or someone that does callouts to clear it in the Dover Kent area.
Or
i read something about a micro switch if i buy one and fit it will this solve the problems?
Many thanks

You have to wait until KEYCODE LOCKOUT has disappeared before you start to enter your EKA.

Have you waited until it's gone?

Just been out and tried again, dash says press remote or enter keycode, so pressed remote and nothing, enter code via the lock and when u try to start the engine it still says press remote or enter code. Its as though the bcm its seeing the remote or the lock

In door lock try from upright keeping lock button pressed and turning to lock and back. Then keeping unlock pressed and turning to unlock and back. Or in ignition pressing lock button and turning ignition to position 2 pressing unlock button and turning ignition off. See what you get. What year is your car?

You're doing the right thing. Pressing your remote probably isn't working because your remote fob has lost sync. The flat battery would guarantee this.

I think it does sound like your microswitches in the lock are not registering the EKA input. Can you spray some lock lubricant in there or something and try again?

I don't think you'll be able to re-sync your fob until you've entered your EKA code, but I might be wrong. Mine is a MY1998 (built 1997 R Reg) and I sync my fobs by just putting the ignition key in and turning the ignition on and leaving them there for 30secs. You could try that.

Does he have the door card off?

Just tried that (turning key with button pressed) and nothing happens, still get the same enter keycode message on the dash, its a 2000 x reg, 2.5 diesel. The other thing ive just noticed is the central locking isnt work when unlocking the door.

its not actual wd, its contact spray we use on fuses at work. Battery was fully charged if i cant get it going by tonight ill pm u, put battery on charge and call you in the morning, cheers mate.

Maybe you have wear on the rod coupling the barrel to the lock arm and it's not travelling far enough to trip the micro switch.

Got it started today, ive not had time to do anything with it over the past 2days, i want back to it today, put the key in the door to unlock it and when i did the central locking worked, so i put the key in the ignition went to start it and got the 'enter code' message, went back to the door lock did the 4 lock turns (on the 1st the central locking closed) entered my eka code. Unlocked the car, went to start and it started.
I can only assume that where it has been sprayed up with contact spray and left for a couple of days its worked magic as i havent done anything to the car.
Anyway thanks for you help as always & thought ud round the thread off incase some else has this issue in the future.
