p38 filter for grill at bottom of windscreen?

has anybody ever bought a replacement mesh filter for the grill where the wipers bolt to the car, at the bottom of the windscreen? on my 2000 vogue, mine has perished from the wind rush hitting it off the bonnet.
if you have, what did you ask for, and is it main stealer or not?

I got mine from our local 4x4 workshop, i just asked for the filter that goes just below the windscreen, if i remember right it was very cheap and easy to replace, i am sure if you ask for the same thing they should know what you mean

Yes dirt cheap and available from Rimmer Bros. etc.
Bit more involved than changing the Pollen filters though

While i had my grill off under the windscreen i but it in the bath and gave it a good clean but please only do this when her indoors is shopping

i know what you mean mate, i got my wheels, one by one in the bath while she was out, giving them a good scrub, she walked in when i was doing the third one. hence 3 spotless, one still hangin! she thinks she is punishing me now by not talking to me!!!

ive just orderd a plenum filter from lr, only £4.50, how good is that!

True story...many many years ago, when I was a young man and before the M.O.T. had even been thought of, my mate bought an old Austin 10 for about 25 quid. Only problem was it burnt a little oil..about 2 pints every 300 miles (Greenpeace hadn't been even thought of). We decided to pull the engine out to fit new Cord's rings and replace the crank bearings. The engine was a bit ****ty, so after we pulled it out, using a washing line, we carried it in the house whilst his Ma was at work, put a bit of old carpet in the bath and placed the engine on it. Gave it a good dosing of Gunk and washed it off. You can imagine the state of the bath afterwards!! Managed to clean up and his Ma came home about 30 minutes later and was none the wiser. The secret was kept for about 20 years before we told her. What she didn't know was that the engine was stripped and rebuilt on her kitchen table with a bowl of paraffin on the floor to clean the bits in whilst she was out of the house. She used to say "What's that smell" when she came back, but never twigged it!
Wished we had showers in those days, it would have made things much easier to shift the muck.:violin::mil77:

When i rebuilt my motorbike engine quite a few years ago (if the wife reads this lol) i put all of the cases rods cranK gearbox into the dish washer on hot wash came out like new!
