Under the front of the engine, forward almost to the radiator, there is a removable panel with sound deadening on it.

P38`s have a bl00by great piece of steel to protect the bottom of the engine its called the axle
and unlike the Pajero if the terrain looks tough you raise the air suspension to keep the engine higher up

Pajero's of the P38's era have terrible axle articulation so they never really get into places where they'll hurt themselves
