P38 electrical problems

Hi there,

I am having a problem with the off side headlight wiper motor, it seems to be stuck on, both the motor and the spray. I have removed the fuse and problem stopped but would like to fix it. Does anyone know this problem or do i need a new motor, etc..?
Also noticed briefly a fizzing noise from the under bonnet fuse box whils engine off, not affecting any electrics - both problems might be related?

Any help would be appreciated!

Dont know 4 sure but I`d be looking for a sticking relay.

If you can hear fizzing, it's normally water that has got in, is corroding a connection and causing high resistance (and therefore heat).

I had this on my 1985 Astra GTE years ago, water was trickling down the bulkhead, straight into a wiring connector and fizzing quite loudly.

Take the under bonnet fusebox apart and have a good look inside it- it's a common item to suffer from water ingress.

Duff fuse box, it's a well documented problem

try checking relay RL11 headlight washer wipe relay in the engine compartment fuse box and wiper motor internal park switch if good wiper stops in correct park position
