Been looking for p38 now a while, keeping an eye out for a diesel manual. I was air con this time. Not an ad but in my looking I see a few p38’s with problems and then seen that some people had put the tdv6 (m57) engine in it. All posts are old and sparse so was thinking what it would cost in this day? I believe someone in Poland made a harness allowing it to work as I hear the electrics were an issue but didn’t say whether the got it to make all the electrics on the dash work? for me it would really need to be a shop that could do the whole job. Preferably who done it or similar before. Anyone done it.
since the search bar won’t help me I thought I’ll just ask.
Thanks.

The M57 is a straight six not a V. It can be fitted but you need to swap the gearbox if it's an auto to an HP24.
There was a company doing conversions to the crank breaking V6 diesel from the D3 at about £8K if I remember correctly.

I won’t be jamming one in no but after speaking to a nice lady at Simtek today it seems like if I can get the engine fitted they can make it work. Was also told I was nowhere near the first person to ask lol. The previous posts I read made me believe that a manual was easier but they were old. The auto I believe needs an adapter plate. All comes down to money in the end really.
datatech not heard of the v conversion but will endeavour to find out more. That box I heard you mention numerous times and for sure would be the one to go for. I hear of an internal upgrade too. Of course more money. More investigation needed I think.
