P38 diesel leak

My diesel heater lid is cracked and wet I've been told it can't leak as pipes are sealed but I'm curious because it's wet on top and ground underneath the sump has diesel with drips on sump plug

I will but temporary I've glued it but will it leak as I've been told it won't it's sealed inside and just a heater but to me looks like it has been

Tighten it too much and the top cracks. The top will leak as there's constantly fuel being pumped in and through.

Thankyou I thought that only just noticed it and I havnt changed filter so I'm wondering if slight cracks been there then opened up

Mine also has aux pump fitted between filter and engine I think it's been done because fuel tank pump is shot

Inline facet pumps can be useful
But better to sort original lift pump. You’ll want a VDO unit, £40 jobs don’t last long.

Either it’s drop the tank
or can cut an access hatch in boot above the pump.

Fuel heater/filter body is more important, glue won’t work. There are two o-rings in the unit where pipes go in. I changed mine for about 10p at motor factors just to be sure they werent letting air in.

Should be OK. Exhaust is the other side.

It wasn't it dissolved lol, I know epoxy doesn't but I didn't have any lol

If there is diesel dripping off the sump, check the leak off pipes.

ALL been changed bud as 2 were leaking, there is a tiny weep around base of injector 4

The needle lift sensor, the leak is usually where the wires come out.

Yeah It was leaking a fair bit so I epoxied it lol and it's now down to an annoying few drips on ground from the puddle, I'm not leaving it like that it will be be changed but Xmas and sorting becn/ecu problem wiped me out lol

Even with hole in it will get better mpg than a V8
