P38 Central locking problem

Hi again on further inspection. i have found that you can unlock the car with the fob and all locks open except the tailgate. then when you go to lock it with the fob the back doors lock but the drivers and passenger doors don't lock and the tailgate still does nothing. could someone please point me in the right direction as the kids weren't to happy with a weeks shopping on there knees

Sorted turned out the front windows had pulled the connectors apart. and the tailgate i can only put down to a dodgy connection in the multi plug behind the side panel.

Bmec, Bcem... what does it all mean !
I am picking up my newly purchased RR tomorrow and it has this fault too.
Drivers door won't lock/unlock with the fob (all others do) but does with the key.
The central locking works when sat inside the car and the knob is pressed down.
What am I looking at changing or is it down to a dodgy wire / fuse ?

Thanks,
Stu

Hi There its becm(body electrical control module) controls almost everything electronic. With the door lock take the panel off the inside of the door and peel back the foam from the lock side to gain access to the lock. Just below the lock there are two connectors on mine one is cliped to the door and the other was floating in the door(flapping about) and the window glass pulled the plug apart when it was put down. i drilled two holes in the door and cable tied the connector back out of the way of the window. hth

i had the original posted problem some weeks ago. driver door superlocked.
replaced both front door internal mechs. job done.

My Central locking is now working, I replaced the NSF and OSF door latches (not cheap) but now the locks are working as they should. It only took afew fiddly hours to do. I got the Latches from Island 4X4 in Kent. They were the cheapest I could find, be careful to order the right latches for your car as the connectors are different on later models (95-99) or (99-02) and when checking your workmanship remember to leave the the windows open and not get your keys locked inside the car with a 30 mile drive to get the spare keys!! Nuff Said.

Who would do that ? :)

I put a Stoploc on the steering wheel once without having the key for it....
