My thor 4.6 is running really smoothly so there's no evidence of a knackered cam, however I'm well aware of the Rover V8's reputation in this area and my car is coming up to 120K miles. I will service the car before the winter, if I decided to do a precautionary cam swap how difficult is this in-car? Is it just a case of rad out, belts, inlet manifold and rocker covers off? Cam swaps on the Rover V8 are pretty easy - it's all about how easy they are to get to. I fancy a piper 270i - a wee bit more pep never did anyone any harm
