Apart from a coolant headache I've now a brake problem.
The back discs are not grabbing on both sides. Pad thickness looks fine and have greased them up recently so should have no jamming. Looks like very little pressure on disks as still rough/ corroded.
Now brakes judder a little on braking and feel like a warped disk but I dont think its warped . Plenty of pad on the front too. Mines a 2000 petrol and have just been reading the thread on the stainless / plastic pin in the braking system that fails. No warning lights are on.

A 2000 should have the modified washer i think. You need to clarify what you mean by not acting on both sides. Do you mean on both sides of a disc which could be seized sliders or O/S is working but N/S is not. If both sides of vehicle have no braking effort it can only be seriously seized caliper pistons or down to the apportioning valve not letting fluid pressure to the rear brakes. Needs to be looked into on an urgent basis.

where does the apportioning valve live. No or little brakes on both sides of the car.
Will take off pads again today grease up and push cylinders back again

Take a look at RAVE you are looking for the PCRV (Pressure conscious reducing valve).

Took the rear pads off. Looked ok not siezed with what I assume is plenty left on the pads.
Anyway changed the pads for new Delphi Lockhead ones. Used copper grease and chamfered the leading edges of the pads. Took her for a spin and gripping a lot better and none of the judder as before. New shiny disks as well on getting home.
Trouble is overheated when I went out for a test drive. I've started a new thread on this as I think I've narrowed it down.
