I recently had to bleed the brake system on my P38, I followed the procedure in RAVE, which if you have done so will know its a long and complicated process! Anyway that went all ok and the brakes feel good, but I notice that the first press of the pedal in the morning has a lot of travel, whereas it was never like this before.

Has anyone done similar and experienced this, perhaps the M/C needs bleeding again, or is it to do with the accumulator?

I had to bleed the system on mine a few times the full way in order to get all the spongey feeling out.
The last few times i just bled from the master bleed nipple on the accumulator to get the last remnants out.
Been perfect since :D

I have a few weeks ago done mine, new discs and pads all round, new front calipers, stainless flexies (4), front to rear brake pipes X2 and two other small ones at the rear, depressurised the brake as suggested, twice just to make sure, all the brake fluid drained out when the calipers and old pipes were removed.

printed out the procedure and got the wife to push the pedal, went very well pushed lots of fluid through the system (nearly two ltrs), my pedal travel was quite a lot first press next day, so i pressed quite hard on the pedal and all was sorted, i just put it down to the new calipers settling themselves.

Excessive travel first press after bleed is normal - needs to settle, remember it's compressor pressured, not servo like other vehicles. 2nd press should be firm with less travel, and if stereo off etc, you'll hear compressor.
