Hi (I'd originally posted this in the introduce yourself section but saw another comment that that was not the best place, so apologies if you have read before)
I'm completely new to forums and a complete girl as far as anything mechanical is concerned, however, I thought I'd check out google for any information on flat batteries in Range Rovers, and found this great site. I've had our RR for about 5 years, and had very few problems until the last 5 or so months when a "LHF Door Open" message on appeared on the dash. Although this was annoying I ignored it and tried to make sure that I always switched off the interior light manually. About the same time I had quite a lot of instances of not starting, and having to jump start it. A new battery seemed to fix the problem for a while, but now it has started again. Could these be related? In addition, I've also read with interest many of the posts re the RF receiver. If this is not too blonde a question.... would the BECM wake up if the car is not locked? I can easily put the car in a shed on the farm and leave it unlocked to see if that makes a difference, but just wondered whether the sensor saying the door is open would have any effect on draining the battery?
If anyone has any useful hints or tips I'd be most grateful.
