I've had a good look through the archived posts on here and see lots relating to the hevac/blower motor problems but cannot see any posts about the problem I have!

I have a 2000 RR DHSE with no warning/textbook signs on the main dash display but have a blower that is permanently on. It only goes off when you switch the engine off.

You cannot turn the speed of the blower up or down using the dial or increase/reduce the speed by pushing auto in the middle of the dial. The blower is simply always on and on one (sounds like a medium) sort of speed. The air that does come out is neither hot nor cold.

When I press the "A/C OFF" button the light on the button blinks. Usual function or does this indciate a fault?

All of the other buttons on the hevac unit work (lighting up when pressed) but they will not direct the flow of air anywhere other than the windscreen. heated seats etc work as they should as does the rear windscreen heat etc.

The LCD backlight temp display is not working - is this a coincidence or related to the blower problem?

Ive heard that the blower problem could simply be a faulty dial switch that controls the blower speed but am not convinced.

Any thoughts or guidance gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

Landyian.

When you press the aircon off button and the light blinks, this is the car telling you you shouldnt be doing that as the tempreture you have set on the HEVAC control has yet to be attained in the cabin and it needs the aircon on to bring the tempreture down.
The LCD backlight is just a blown bulb.
I would have expected to see a check book symbol in the HEVAC screen as it dont take much to to set this off- are you sure you have a problem ? in these warm months my climate control is always blowing.......

Thanks for your prompt reply. I've just had another look - the aircon display is there but very, very faint so that confirms the blown bulb. No sign of the book thingy on the aircon display but it may be there - can't really see as its so faint!

The blower will not turn off though however much I turn the dial to the left or turn the "auto" climate control function on or off.

Could it just be down to a dodgy dial switch?

Check the blower relays in the engine bay fuse box, swap them with another relay of the same colour, green I think, from the fuse box. Whilst you are at it, have a good sniff at the fuse box for traces of burning. When the relays are removed look around the slots where the relays plug in for signs of scorching and erosion around the pin receptacles.
Does the fan speed slow down/increase when you turn the knob up or down (The one that surrounds the "AUTO" button.)

Hi there

I would guess that your blower regulators have gone. Two new blowers I would hazard.

Hi Guys

I have pretty much the same problem, the book it on but the heater just willl not turn off. the book has been on for a while but the heaater did work ok ish. but now it like it is stuck on number 2. the heater will increase to full with the dial but will just not stop.

I unplugged the hevac but to no avail as soon as i turn the key to the first click the heater is blowing.

Any help on this would be appriciated.

Thanks
