p38 air suspension question

Hi. My P38 has been converted to coil springs,It still has the compressor in the engine bay and the air tank underneath

My question is, how do i check to see if the compressors still working? pointless it being there,so my plan is to find out if its working then if it is let someone have it who's in need of one

Take it out and stick 12 volts on it. Make sure it is pumping well by putting you finger over outlet air should force past it.

Take it out and plug it into my Rangie see if shes runs, then let me drive away.
Leicestershire, if im anywhere near?
