Hi all,

Doing a bit of tidying up, including replacing the old scuttle foam intake.

As some of the screws holding the scuttle down are corroded, I was going to replace these and the square nut affair that they go into (about 8mm across, 18mm deep with a small foam 'washer')

Does anyone know where I might get these nuts, or even what they're called?

Cheers!

Have a look at my post on 7th May headed "P38 Wiper query".

All the info you need is on there/

Hi Irish, and thanks for the tips on the plenum filter foam and the stainless self tappers.

What I really need to wrap the job up properly is to replace the clip the screws go into - perhaps a well nut or something similar might do the job?

Hope your wipers are sorted too - going to have a quick check to make sure I don't have a similar problem!

Many thanks for that - I got the parts from my local main dealer, neatly rounded up to £1 a pop. Happily a few of the removed ones were still in reasonable shape! I also got a new plenum filter from them at a very reasonable £5.11. That, coupled with some light grade chicken wire from my local Scats store (£3.88 a sheet) has returned my scuttle to its former glory! (plus the addition of stainless screws - thanks again!)

My cosmetic improvements to the bumpers and scuttle now look and damn sight better than they did!

Cheers!
