Hi Guys
I know the p38 tyre size question has been posted many times, and I know if I fit 255 70 16 then the speedo reading will be inaccurate. But what I am trying to find out is if the car one day decides to sit on the bump stops will 255 70 16 rub ??

Couldnt you measure the distance from wheel top to top of wheel arch then measure the gap between chassis and bump stop add them together...?

I haven't bought the tyres yet, so cant measure...just want to see what the general consensus is and if any one runs that size or larger

The tyre diameter will be 1.275 cm greater from the centre of the wheel to it's outer edge overall 2.55 cm larger. Drop it to the bump stops and measure the clearance to your present tyres. You will need diag to do this unless you drop it to access and pull the corner pipes from the valve block. Don't think they will rub but will not be finding out.

Then that looks like your setup will be massive compared to mine. Using an online calculator it will be over 25cm bigger! Can that be right?

2.57 cm bigger not 25 cm. Outer diameter of a 255/55/18 is 73.77 cm. Outer diameter of a 255/70/18 is 76.34 cm 2.57 cm difference.

I have 255 65 18s on mine, (I think 65!) which is wider that your 255 70 16s so you should still be clear as I think I am............

So if you are running 255 65 18 they are bigger than 255 70 16..Have you had any rubbing issue's etc..I take it you still have EAS and not converted to coil.

Wammers thanks also for the info Royal
