It should self level when parked so will let down the highest corners (i think)

Parked on level ground it should stay up, on uneven ground it will continue to try to self level but not normally to the bump stops. Reckon you have a leak, most likely airbags if they are original. Do the soapy water spray test. Lots of threads on the subject.
