ok so i have vibration and clonking through the drive train gearbox sounds clunky, when your in gear but at low speed, engine appears to misfire but as soon as you stop smooths out,
really puzzling, could be dual mass fly wheel (i hope not as i have recently had a new clutch fitted) it did this before clutch was fitted, just seems worse now,no juddering on take off only clonking at low speed between 5 and 10mph,
i suspect gearbox is worse than i thought or uj's on prop,or something cheap ,:D
not a chance, answers on a postcard please lol.
2nd gear on gearbox crunches going up the box, and getting harder to get out of 3rd and 4th gear tends to try and hold it in gear.
(it's a manual btw lol)

oh **** severe raping of the wallet:eek:
oh well if ya pay a monkey to do the job what can i expect
non range rover garage so they may of not known what to look for.
thanks datatek i was hoping for a different answer, but i sort of knew it would be that, however it may be worth slamming on a better gearbox as well.as mine is a tad worn, but where can i get a good one from, don't want the hassle of changing gearboxes several times to find a good one,and how hard is it to change the dual mass fly wheel.
will it cause damage to drive it with a faulty dmf,can the vehicle still be used.

I sympathise, I have the same problem with my Trannie, it had a new clutch and allegedly a new DMF just before I bought it, except the barstewards did the clutch but "forgot" the DMF, didn't forget to charge for it though. Got a new solid flywheel to fit.

a new solid flywheel? keep hearing scary stories about those, breaking cranks and the like, but you know your stuff, and should not be a problem.
