Had a strange fault earlier. Going up a steep hill with some weight in the back. Engine went to low power mode, temp gauge went full scale and temp warning lights on. Stopped the car immediately and looked under the bonnet, all looked ok. Put the ignition back on and gauge reading normal. Set off again, after a few seconds happened again. Ignored it and limped to the top of the hill. Gauge kept reading high then normal. Eventually after reaching the top of the hill it settled back to normal and ok all the way home. I suspect it’s a bad sensor or faulty connection.
