overheating

finaly got most of my jobs on range rover done this week but still cant get her to stop overheating it will tick over all day long no overheating as soon as it s driven for a few miles temp gauge rises stop open cap slightly and pipes go soft again off it goes but no hot air inside car and matrix pipe is cold as is pipe coming out of stat at bottom of rad and has poor ciculation runs mint sounds realy quiet no misfire
 
finaly got to the bottom of my rangeys overheating problem
bought new thermostat fitted it still same prblem then took rad of flushed it out dropped it and snapped top hose bought a good second hand rad flushed it out and still same so last chance was waterpump got new one and started to remove old one only to find out impeller fell of as i took it off engine fitted new one and runs a dream got her moted today new crentre section exhaust taxed her and now it runs and drives realy well very happy with it just a few minor jobs to finish now thanks for all you peoples help m

Also worth checking the viscose fan coupling. Waterpumps I've replaced on 2 cars both needed new coupling as well.
 
Island 4x4 sell a nice new water pump with proper metal impellar! Far better than the plastic version which falls off the shaft or falls to bits after a few years.
