One for the boffins

1.8 Freelander and 4.6 Range Rover over temp problems

Would an over temperature audible warning for oil or water or both be of any help to avoid further damage to the engine?

If so where would be the best place to put the sensors ?

Has anyone done this already?

Any help would be appreciated

Regards
Fred

Yes do that but most don't as will be seen when you go to buy any used car

On reading threads and car sales descriptions most seem to say this happened on a Motorway or on a long run.

On the RR Classic it had a coolant level indicator which was a good idea and informed me when I had a leak in the top hose. But later cars do not have this.
