over heating

i can take banter mate but i dont need some **** bein an arsewhole for the sake of it( not that anyone has yet )
 
as the fan gets hotter the fluid in the viscious coupling get thicker and the fan spins faster. If it's working run the engine till it gets hot. then switch the engine off see if you can turn the fan. If you can it's knackered. VIP make sure the engine is off and the fan isn;t spinning when you put your hands in there.

try this first we can worry about the rest afterwards.
 
i got a p reg 300 tdi defender 110 with a viscous fan . it keeps overheating . theres plenty of coolant . oil etc etc etc but not too much either.cheers lads bloaty

What are you seeing physically when it overheats?.......just the temp gauge rising into the red or is it doing a good impression of a steam kettle?
 
right it wasnt an air lock but the plastic plug on the thermostat housing is ****ed so i guess they break when the engine overheats. im pretty sure its the vizcuss cos i can turn it not matter what state its in . hot or cold so ill order 2 more plastic bungs and a vizcuss . wheel be in touch lads bloaty
