Hi everyone,

I have a P38 Diesel MY97, a few time ago the front right door lock just stop working, (had to be unlocked/locked manually), so last week I replaced from a use one, that was working fine.
I dismantled the faulty one and saw that the lock motor was completely stuck, the brushes were destroyed. So before mounting the new used one, I take it apart and make sure that was working good, give a clean and lube, the motor was running smoothly, assembled it and mounted.
Tested several times, the door was locking/unlocking fine. So job done, i thought....
It only last a day. Got it out from door, and disassembled just to see that the lock motor was like the other one, kind of stuck and the brushes were gone.
I start to think that maybe the outstation isn't working as it should, and some times just leave power to the lock motor, destroying it... maybe the relay in outstation gets stuck in one position keeping the lock powered

Anyone had some kind of problem with outstations and door locks before?

Thanks
Paulo

Sounds as if the motors are burning out. This will happen if the rf receiver is picking up spurious signals and waking up the alarm which relocks the car constantly. Before you fit a new lock there are a few things you can do. Fit the latest rf receiver, disconnect the aerial wire( blue) or do the second remote fix. Do a search.
