The sales pitch alone would have me running for the hills!
Where is SE Tech in the range? ie bottom/middle/top spec etc.

Cam belts every 7 years, have they been done? does warranty cover crank issues?
Always worth googling tdv6/sdv6 crank/engine issues.

Thanks, the belts were done 2022. Warrenty does cover crank issue, although I have asked them to confirm. I think that the SE Tech includes front parking sensors and a better satnav? Sort of middle ish range, I think.
Why dont you like the sales pitch?

Why dont you like the sales pitch?

Because its mindless, corporate driven claptrap?

When people start quoting corporate bullcrap and you can see they actually believe what they are saying, I tend to switch off/walk away.

I would like to get a 4 to replace my 3, but the engine issue would worry me to much.
I have noticed the price on late d4s has really dropped over the last year.

But if you like it, and it runs/drives nice then only you can make the decision.

Make sure you hear it start from stone cold.

Thank you - sound advice.

Discovery 4s suffer snapped cranks just like the D3s if you get past a decent milage on a d3 then it's unlikely to let go.

Seems its poverty spec to be honest and well over priced. You can't give these away down here in londonstan due to ulez zone.

Maybe try around my end of the world or look on the d3/d4 forum for a members car for sale.

Here you go

However not a members car just someone selling it via the forum

The one he linked to should be Euro6, so Ulez okay?

Firstly, there's a Disco4.com sticker on the back window in the photos, maybe ask about it on there?
Secondly, I used to work in a Volvo dealership where 'Lee' was a sales reptile, he's less trustworthy than your average sales reptile... If he said it was raining, I'd look out of the window to check (and it probably wouldn't be).

Side note:- EU6 isn't just SCR, it's low-pressure EGR's too, as with everything else, it'll all work fine if you drive it enough, if you want or have to drive at low speed, low (exhaust) temperature and short journeys, it'll be a living nightmare. Not just LR's.

Yep it's add blue and fits inside the rear wheel mounted under the back of the car clever stuff but just more to go wrong on an all ready complicated car prone to issues.

Op is in Cumbria so a ulez compliant car should not be an issue surely?
Adbliue + dpf + doc + nox sensors, no grief at all!

Euro 6 is OK for ulez but isn't the op other end of the country ? Or am I missing something. If he needs a bid 4x4 ulez best buy is a 4.2 sc range rover at the moment or even an early 4.2 sport
I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that as he was looking at an e6 model that he needed an e6 model.
