Laid in bed last night & the CCTV went on. I had a look out the front & there wasn't anything there. I
thought a fox had set it off. I gets back in bed without looking at the tape. A moment later I hear a
noise from the side garden. I nip into the back bedroom to see three scrotes trying to break into my
conservatory.

They didn't know about the 500w lights all round my back garden> They moved into the path of the lights
just as I looked out of the window & they bolted. I opened the window & gave the little ****ers a right
mouthful. They fell all over the place ion the farmers filed next door. Full of deep mud & ****!!

My wife was busy calling the Police at this time. I got my coat & off I ran after them. Within a few
hundred yards I saw someone laid on the grass verge. I hoped it was one of the thieves that had fallen &
hurt themselves. Just as I got there the Police arrived & myself & the Police gave a double take as a
little old lady of about 80 was sat on the grass verge ****ed out of her brains I presume!! At first I
thought she had been hit by the scrotes, but she had just fallen! What in gods name was an 80 year old
doing out at 3:30am?

Anyway, the Police got the helicopter to come & it arrived very quickly.

The really odd thing is, given my wife has a brand new Golf Gti on the drive, they where all looking in &
trying my car looking at the CCTV footage? I can only think ram raid etc.

Anyway, we have some superb footage of the two white lads & one Asian lad (stand out a mile round here)
so I'm gonna do some posters offering £100 for a confirmed name. I know the Police cant act on 3rd party
info, but my mate the surveillance officer can. I want some info on these ****ers.

I have had enough of these scrotes, but must admit the Police where superb last night. They have an
ongoing operation round here for these same ****ers.

I got my coat & off I ran after them.

Not a great idea. You could easily have been stabbed or shot. If you'd
caught them you'd have been done for assault no doubt.

Worlds most successful lookout? ;-) It's a good job you didn't give her a
bit of therapy in the darkness. Perhaphs it was fate? You could have saved
her life.

Were they after the Rangie or the Scoobie?

Well, you could also get run over running for a bus mate. No way will anyone
do this to me or my family. Has it ever happened to you? not being funny,
but it does get your blood up. All i want to do was detain them as i knew
the Police where on thier way. I dare say i might have given them a quick
tickle, but who knows until it happens?

Scooby is at work in a secure car park! Cant see any kids nicking in a Hanoi
style burglary won't be interested in a 10 year old RR!! It could really
only have been for ram raiding I reckon.

It was obvious, as in the last time some scum tried to nick my wifes A4 cab,
that they are after car keys. I have good security, but it did highlight the
back & side, that is farmland, is very open. Not for long.

Thats a very good point matey, as i first saw her my anger turned to
compassion. I hoped she wasnt injured, but how bizarre to see? The funny
thing is, we live in a very nice area, but there is always something going
on (but you dont see it when yer kipping!) The bobby had more than a few
tales to tell!

Funny, but the WRX has never even been sniffed at. The CCTV system has
caught a few so far with LR's & Mini's.

nevertheless, you have to be dead careful to only use "reasonable force",
irritating though it is. I like the idea though of ****e-traps - dig a moat
around yer property, fill it with nice soft damp clay. about 4' deep should
do it. Get the consistency just right and the scrotes will get stuck in it
just like flies on a fly-paper, to await the arrival of dibbles to pull 'em
out.

at the very least, they'll lose the trendy trainers in the gloop and have to
run home barefoot.

to them.

The Police did tell me an interesting story about the locks fitted to mine & most french doors. They take
the lock surround off & grip the lock barrel with molegrips. Give it a few waggles & off it breaks. They
can then open the door with a screwdriver. Nice. I have mine secured with a locked wire cable round both
handles & sash jams top & bottom. The same lock is fitted to my front door ffs. I'm gonna have to fit
some bolts this weekend to that to secure it.

You can get into *any* "Plastic door" type door lock in about 40secs,
whatever the rating - I'm obviousy not saying how. Bob The Builder
showed me when we accidently locked ourselves out.

The front door is Steel covered wood. Very solid & very heavy. Needs some bolts on the inside.

I'm gonna get the rear sorted this wekend.

There is a very good reason they didn't target the GTi - an immobiliser. All
new cars have themand you normal car theif hasn't got a hope of getting
around them!!!

Really annoyed me the other day when our local council and the Police were
crowing about the big reduction in burnt out cars in the area - they had
NOTHING to do with it!!!

I go mountain biking in the area where most of the thiefs burn out cars -
these days you see things like Metros - Astras and even a Volvo 240
estate!!! All really old cars - and there aren't many of them left these
days.

me neither. depends on the car, but especially on a diesel I reckon I could
bypass most immobilising strategies fairly easily.

things with EDC or such would be more tricky. But a lot of diesels are
still using a mechanical injection pump
