Disco 2 Osr door won't open

The door locks and unlocks fine, but won't open from the outside only from the inside
Any ideas guys?

There's a little bit of bent metal which connects the outside handle to the lock mechanism which might have come loose.
Unfortunately to really find out what's going on it could be a case of a full strip down of the door.

The last time I replaced a rear passenger's door lock the new one didn't open properly from the outside, not without giving the door a great big tug. That turned out to be a faulty lock (faulty from new), once I replaced it for a second time with a used lock everything worked correctly.

Yeah, it is a bit. The first time I did mine, it took about 4 hours ....... I likes to sit and think. The second time I'd got it down to about two hours.
One of the most fiddly bits is getting the window to go up and down to just the right place to get the frame out of the door. In the write-up, the bloke just pulls everything apart and does the job, I found that once I'd got into the door, I reconnected the window switch so that I could control the window up and down from where I was.
You'll need Torx drivers for your socket set, two sizes, sorry I can't remember what sizes off the top of me 'ead. The actual job is relatively straightforward, no adjustments or other catch-outs, it's just a bit of a fiddle. If you do have to go down the route of changing the lock, don't let the little linkage just dangle, remove it completely and put it in your pocket. If you let it fall in the door, trust me you'll be very lucky indeed to even find it again.
Sadly, you'll probably have to get the frame out to see what's going on with the little linkage. If the linkage is present then I would say that a replacement lock might be required. They are easily available, both new for about 70-80 quid and "pre-loved", AKA second user for about half that.
The part number for a replacement lock unit is FQM100700 for the right hand one.

Thanks for the advice be a job for next weekend that will. As painting front slam panel support bars today and repairing cracked headlight bracket.
I'll rip apart and see what the problem is.

Update the door locks, but only unlocks manually I'e by pulling the handle or pin up. The handle on the outside works once unlocked tho

I noticed when I put me glasses on

About £80 then

Given the awkwardness of fitting I'd go for a new one over used every time unless cash is really tight. I hate grovelling about in the door which apart from anything else is coated with waxoyl which transfers itself to my hands, clothes, face etc.....

Thanks for the input guys, I'm gunna leave it how it is for now, as can just lean over to unlock it. Until I can get a cheap lock lol
