I think the cushion and squab have been re made but the frame is original
If it is original does the base lift up/out to easily access the under seat panels for gearbox/fuel tank access?

Probably is original then and just the SA spec. A lot of them were sent out as CDK and built there. Not sure if what you have falls into that category?

It will have been made in Brum, then disassembled into major components, crated, and shipped to South Africa for assembly by Leykor.
Known as CKD vehicles, which stands for Completely Knocked Down, eg, disassembled.
The CKD vehicles were sent to various countries, not just South Africa.
I don't know, but can only guess that the local companies were allowed to source some components, such as seat squabs, in the destination countries.
The UK seats were more or less the same, just squabs and backs that sat on the seat box, but 3 piece, not a single cushion.
If you want to do that, the squabs and backs are still available.

The vents on the dash top don’t look normal either.
They even made some chassis there and those are extremly difficult to import to uk...
I have seen those style before when I was looking at replacement dash tops For mine. Not sure why they are different or what they were for originally but they are not uncommon (at least when I was looking) but they were not what I wanted as I was looking for a like for like replacement.

The “deluxe” versions of the 107/109” Series One pickups had bench seats like that ,so the precedent had been set quite a few years earlier . Whether the seats of yours were made in Britain or SA is not a question I can answer, as I am not particularly well up with modern Series, but they look as if they are worth keeping . If for no other reason because of the rarity factor.
