This is maybe not the right place to post this as it's generic issue, but since it's on a 90, here goes!

I'm getting closer to getting said 90 back on the road. It has a split charging system (that baffles me) and after charging up both the red and yellow top with a Clarke CC120 charger, the car still did not start and the red top is now making a gentle crackling/fizzing sound. Granted, the car has been off the road for over two years so the batteries have not seen any action in that time - until last week when they were charged, obviously to no avail. Anyone had their battery act like this and if so, what was the ultimate conclusion?

Thought Optima's had to be charged with a generic charger (Robint has one) :rolleyes.

yes they do. got one in the shed. lad at work had a j**p with an optima that kept going flat on him so he replaced it. I asked him for his old one and left it on charge for a couple of days and have been using it for the last two years. bonus. ;)
