im 100% sure the clutch fork is jamned right back somehow or the thrust bearing is jamming it. so the slave push rod isnt doing anything . Any how what would be easier removing engine or pushing the gear box back . I KNOW BOTH SOUNDS LIKE A BUGGER . and i havent got a engine crane plus the 200 has only been in just over a year ****ing brit part clutch kit crap i put inwill not again ideas thankyou.

Well if you haven't got any means of lifting the engine out that kind of answers the question for you doesn't it? I would think it easier to drop the gearbox on a fender or series vehicle but a disco would be easier with the engine out.

You could always hire a engine hoist for a weekend , there not that much tbh - strip the front off ready then pick up the crane ( after getting all the parts first of course ) .
youd **** it in a couple of hours as you wont have siezed bolts etc :) .

If you have no means to lift the engine then slide the gearbox back. I would take the engine out every time over the gearbox if I was working at ground level. If I am on a ramp I drop the box as there is less to remove and moving the boxes about is much easier when you can get right under them.

Last time I had the gearbox out of my 90 was to replace the mainbox, my seatbox was a mess so I opted to take it out and sort it out at the same time, which gave me great access to the gearbox from above - it's another option for the sake of an extra 20 odd bolts.
