hi irish, hope you can help here,is there any way to check pink/red,light green/red,wires coming from obd to the becm for beakage,as i cant get communnication with car ,and if so what's the best way to do it,and is there any other feed other than the 5amp in the fuse box no 33,that seem's to be fine is there any relay's.cheer,s pat.

The wiring diagrams in the rave discs show the layout. If the supply and earth to the obd socket are good and you cant get comms with BECM,and engine ecu etc - then there is a six way,(From memory) splice in the pink/red wires you need to check. It is in the loom underneath where the heater matrix o rings leak. This can then corrode the splice and create a resistance in the wiring.Easy to check - there should be zero resistance between the wire at the obd plug and the same wire at whichever ecu it goes to.

hi eightinavee, whereabout's does the heater matrix leak at the o ring's,my car has never done that before ,and when you say a six way split' does wire's go into socket or something and then split six way's,cheer's pat.

I had the same problem, ended up tracing all the wires through and testing them, found the brown wire broken where it goes into a white multi-plug in the drivers footwell behind the plastic panel where the bonnet pull is. This solved the problem and gave me communication and funnily enough also canceled my SRS light ?

hi dave, thank's for the reply, when you traced the brown wire back to the white socket, where you getting power to the obd,as iam getting power to obd.,is that the six way split for the pink/red wire that eightinavee was talking about, cheer's pat.

There is no connection between the SRS and the BECM except at the instrument panel. You must have just disturbed something like power to the SRS ECU.:)

I was not getting any power or signal from the obd, sorry then different problem, suspected that I got lucky with the srs data, just hope it stays that way.

hi datatek,do you know where the six way split for the pink/red wire that feed's the diagnostic's that eightinavee was talking about, cheer,s pat
The splice is in the big loom just below where the heater pipes go into the matrix. To get at it you need to cut the insulation off the loom in that area. But only do this when you are sure there is a fault there - ie after you have done the resistance checks on the wires.
