Hi Im new and i need help!!!,
I own an auto Jap import disco on a P plate. (I know and im sorry)
With the 300tdi, It started blowing injector leak off pipes off the other day and spraying a considerable amount of diesel out.
I replaced the pipe it was between number 4 and 3 injector.
it then blew number 3 and 2s pipe off.
I started to think something was afoot! suspecting a buggered injector
Iv taken them all out and plan on having them tested.
Number 4 has a wire
Then I started reading about EDC (all new to me)
And worrying.
As you probably know injectors are unobtainable.
So im hopiung the people that test them can refurn them???
Anyway, mines got EDC and also a throttle cable seems to have a mechanical cruise control? and what i think is the kickdown cable on the pump!
I was under the impression EDC were fly by wire pumps?
WTF is going on.
Any help will be greatly appriecated before i go and buy a ford ranger or somthing else without a green oval
Thanks Dave

Are you serious?? why ?
Im really struggling here what with my dog dying and now this.
Dude, lend a fellow man a hand

Don't worry, the bits they will change will be springs, needles and the tips. So yes they will sort them out for you.

Which leakoff pipe blew off? Probably a stuck/worn needle letting HEAPS of diesel back up the return line - could be something quite easy, I would take the one you suspect is offending, undo the tip, take it apart, keep it IMMACULATE, coat it all in clean diesel and reassemble. A piece of dirt could cause the problem you have. It might even work after a strip and reassembly.

Injectors are not scary, and it won't all ping to pieces. Before you undo it all, don't be afraid to hold it in a vice and give the tip a good cleaning with a wire brush - they are hard as sin.

Really? I been treating them with kid gloves
Ill get them tested and let them hopefully sort them.
It was the small braided hose between number 4 and 3 injector so i replaced it and then the next one when between 3 and 2!
I suspect its number 4 or 3 injector with the fault.
Thanks for the advice

Injectors just need to be kept clean, they are as tough as old boots. Newer ones are bit more fragile certainly.

That little pipe simply takes the spilt diesel (the stuff that leaks past the needle, that is also critial to lubricate it) and lets it run back to the tank - it is just supposed to be a push fit as it never takes any pressure, but it does need to be airtight certainly.

If the 3-4 link blew off then yes it will be injector 3 or 4 I would have thought.

nice to cyber meet you too :p

shame on you for making stories up about yer dog :(

good luck with the rustbucket err Disco :D

HMMMMM iv had the injectors tested,
All ok and not leaking, he suggests the leak off pipes are faulty.
But they are new.
Im a bit stumped now unless its the EDC itself????

And the leak oil pipe is free, did you test with air?

It will build up pressure if the line to the tank is blocked somewhere!

Right so....
noticed today that the fuel tank looked collapsed slightly so i undid the fillercap bearing in mind its nt been run for 3 days and it sucked a fair amout of air in.....
I replaced the injectors and it fired up and ran fine i left the fuel cap undone.
It must be connected to the fueling problem? ,vent blocked?
Im thinking about drilling a hole in the fuel cap
