Long story, but my 1986 110SW currently has Series III seats in it (it's ex RAF and this was quite common)

My plan is to fit some newly acquired Defender front seats, which I will re-cover with Exmoor kits. However, the seats I have acquired are early Defender seats, and as such have "hard backs", and also more bolt holes where the runners are.

I have already confirmed with Exmoor that the trim kits fit the early style Defender seat frames. My question to the collective is will the old style seats fit my seatbox OK in terms of the bolt holes?

I'm hoping that as the vehicle is 1986, in theory it should be a better fit. I know I can try it, but if someone knows, that would be great.

Thanks

My ex mod 1987 90 had the most basic seats fitted when I bought it.
I fitted the early 90 'proper' seats with hard backs and extra bolt holes in the runners.
All holes lined up with holes already in the seat box.
As said, a few more wont matter if you need to drill extra holes.
Iirc, there is room to use penny washers if you want.
Best mod I did was proper seats!

Like he says^^^^^^^^^^^. No worries. Seats in a civvy Ninety are exactly same as in a 200Tdi Defender! :)
