Joined a while back, but my first post/intro. Always fancied a Range Rover since I visited Factory in 1972! Land Rovers and Range Rovers were lined up with scrapyard batteries and oil can petrol tanks as suppliers were on strike. Querying the lack of action we were told it was teabreak and shuttled off to the boardroom for tea, biscuits and sales talk. 45 yrs on a p38 was on sale locally at a reasonable price and my 15yr old Berlingo needed a rest. OK I'm mad but a brief flirtation with a srs 2 station wagon failed to satisfy the longing, the price was right it looked good and Iwas old enough to know better. Two "inspections" later and a pile of notes changed hands and it was mine. I only listened to the sound of the V8 on tickover and drooled as befits my age at acres of leather and wood and accepted the seller's description. So its got dents in two doors, the headlining droops, and it uses 3x the fuel of the Berlingo but I own it for better or probably worse!
One week later it went on strike and I'm now working on a number of problems I expected and a couple totally unexpected. So what, I live in hope of a lottery win or an unknown relation croaking leaving me a fortune to let me live the dream. Meanwhile I scour the Internet for hints on the answers to the faults I need to correct while the Berlingo carries out the jobs I planned it to retire from for a while!
