Arse!
The wipers will run for a while but the fuse keeps blowing, two fuses now in a couple of weeks.
Any ideas? My wipers don't have that there posh intermittent but they do have the option to push the stalk down for a single wipe.
Do you think my motor might be drawing too many amps?

Look at the duff fuse, if the fuse has 'gently' melted that is a sign of continuous high current draw, if it is blackened or violently melted that is a sign of a sharp high current rupture. The first may be caused by stiff mechanism (seized wheel boxes, drive cable or dying motor), the second is generally a direct short to ground caused by cable chafe etc.

Try disconnecting the motor first, if fuse still blows then its wiring, if not start looking at the motor/mechanics/wheel boxes ...

But it doesn't blow straight away, it took 2 weeks to blow the second one, it could just be coincidence.
My heater packed in soon after the first wiper fuse blew, the fuse holder had been scorched so it must have got hot. I cleaned up the contacts and put a new fuse in there and its been fine so I put that down to corroded fuse contacts causing resistance and heat.
Im going to have to pull it apart tomorrow or Sunday and have a proper look.

Could have been a chaffed wire that shorted and popped the fuse, now disturbed not shorting until you have bumped it somehow or whatever ... and bing ...any smell of wire burning ?

I had a look this evening, there were lots of corroded contacts on both wiper motor and heater motor, I cleaned them all up , the wiper switch was pretty dirty on the contacts so some switch cleaner sorted that.
It looks like my wiring / electrical systems are due a service and a new heater motor as a precaution.. The blown fuses had blown because they got hot.

and that is a good reason to do it ... speshully this time of year when you'll be using wipers and the warm dispenser ... :D
