Oil

Sorry to post another silly question but I need some help on this one. I’m going to do an oil change on my series 3 2.25d and have ordered some 15w40 oil as per what is listed in the manual. The oil has arrived today and it says on it that’s it’s for all modern diesel engines, not quite the same as my old landy. Will it be ok to use?
It’s the Triple QX ultra diesel

Is the engine in the best of health? if yes then it will be fine though a little thin.
If it is a little tired I would get some 20/50 for her.

I would not get to wrapped up in specs etc, visocity right then bung it in.
This kind of thing, 10litres for 30 quid.
