Oil Temp Gauge ???

Hi all

I want to fit a oil temp gauge to my series 3 that i am off roading,

How and where do i attach some sort of sensor on the engine ??
Engine is a 1986 2.5n/a diesel

I think I have seen a T into the oil pressure sender, the T giving an outlet for the pressure and temp.

Do you know where i could get one mate
would the item below work ???

That looks the job, that wasn’t what I was on about but does the same, it looks like the hole in the side is for the Temp sender. The T piece I was on about was a brass T with a hole and threaded, I think you can get them from a motorist shop and would be £££ cheaper.
Saying that the unit you have found would be more substantial.

I might get one i just hope the threaded bit on th adaptor is the same size as the filter and on the landrover

Ask the guys at the your motorist shop, the books they use give filter info size, thread etc.
