hi, my mates 200tdi decided to blow the dipstick out last night on his way home from work there is no power loss but when he cable tied it in the oil came out of the turbo instead and there is a lot of white smoke. he has been told it could be the cyclone breather is there anyway of testing this. thanks

HG blown into oilway.

if its chucking oil about like that i would NOT recommend running it as it may
take off on its own if that oil is finding its way to the inlets.

I would say head gasket, valves or piston rings are more likely than a blocked breather. There should be very little pressure difference between the sump and the block and the rocker so a blocked breather shouldn't do this. If combustion pressure is leaking into the system somewhere you would get this happening.
